I decided to become a doctor at a young age yet did not imagine I would enter the field of ophthalmology.
In medical school, I was introduced to a physician who allowed me to see her patients in the clinic and shadow her in the operating room. It was so amazing to see how we could help patients and improve vision and quality of life. This experience solidified my decision to take care of patients by restoring and preventing their loss of sight.
My residency training was completed at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. I then finished a fellowship in medical retina at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL and have been working in the Chicago area since 2016. My specialty, medical retina, focuses on diseases of the back of the eye without performing surgery. This allows me to do everything I can in the clinic and refer to another doctor only when surgery is necessary.
I am a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. My hobbies include traveling, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
